About Us

We are a company of likeminded individuals, searching for a better way, a better product for the health of our animal friends.

Over the past years of ownership of our Equine friends, many products have come and gone really not doing much of anything for the over all health of the Hoof & Frog. Nothing for THE SOLEFUL EQUINE®. It has been proven that the majority of damage caused to the overall hoof are by external environments the equine is subjected to, (e.g.) Bacteria’s, Abscess, Dryness, Cracks – and the list goes on. After testing over a time frame of about 2 years we only than started to suggest that others perhaps try the product we were using on our own horses. Our farrier at the time began to comment on the healthier changes occurring with our horses. Better Growth, White Line and Thrush no longer being problematic.

The barn space we were renting had a nice pond centralized on about 20 acres. Wonderful for local wild fowl, an occasional deer would jump the fences, even alligators if you can believe that. The problem with the pond, as scenic as it was our horses would love to just go and stand foraging on wild grasses and such. This was not the greatest behaviors we would wish for. Although the oils were working for bacteria and the like we started to see a moisture problem.

So our testing and changing of formulas continued. We believe after another year or so of testing we resolved the moisture problem.

Just one more topic for resolving:

My personal horse was purchased when she was about 14 – 15 years old. She was a retired barrel racer. We spent about a week with her to get a feel of her health and just how she responded to different situations…. WAS SHE SPOOKY?

Towards week’s end, it was decided she needed a new home, that she would fit just right. After a while we noticed that she was always touchy with hard surfaces such as concrete etc. Always fine in dirt and grass (on the trail).

The only thing that we thought would resolve the visible problem was a good farrier. The farrier would recommend (their belief) a tried and true Hoof Oil. After using the recommended oil for some time we weren’t able to see any difference, but the farrier swore that her hooves were was healthier. The next time we needed to replace the oil we’d been using we just were not able to locate in the local feed stores. It was at this point I thought to try what we thought needed to be done…

Back to the final topic:

It had been about a year now, we were working with my horse, cleaning her hooves and other grooming details. We had a hold of her front right hoof. She suddenly became a little anxious and puled the hoof out of my hand slamming her hoof onto the concrete floor of the barn. I looked at her, she looked at me. There didn’t seem to be any pain displayed. A day or so later she was swollen and limping. After the vet arrived the prognoses was to wrap the leg above the ankle down to and including the hoof to relieve the swelling.

This was accomplished by using soaked, wrapped towels with Epson salts. After weeks of this she finally to blow out the abscesses. There were 4 or 5 that we found. Finally, the swelling dissipated after the abscesses blew. Months went by of walking her around the yard / pasture to keep from stiffening which could making the healing process even longer. Well after months, she finally started to show signs that perhaps, she could be ridden.

Once we thought to pull out the saddle, we noticed her front right hoof again started to swell. It was time for a trim so we called the farrier of the time. After being placed on the schedule (1 wk. time). I just couldn’t wait again. I WANTED TO RIDE MY HORSE.

After protecting my horses hoof, we finally had the farrier out. The farrier decimated her hoof. He dug into it to the point there was little to no wall or sole leaving the hoof completely flat. She was in so much discomfort that the farrier could not finish as the horse could not place her full weight on the hoof.

Afterwards:

I just felled guided; I had taken our oils and a couple other compounds and created a poultice. The poultice was used for two weeks. Packing into the frog and wrapping with vet-wrap allowing the wrap to remain for 24hr. intervals. Each day after bringing her back into the barn for grooming feeding etc. the wrap was removed, allowing time to clean the hoof and allowing air to dry out any moisture from the wrap, as she would spend the night in the pasture with her buddy.

TWO WEEKS – TWO WEEKS:

After 2 weeks using the poultice, we purchased boots for both front legs. She wore them for another 2 weeks without the poultice. The pictures from start of the poultice to new trim are absolutely remarkable. 7 weeks only.

The moral of the story:

Achieve optimum Hoof & Frog health.

Our responsibility to the Equine is truly to maintain optimum health. It is cheaper to achieve optimum Equine health then to call the Veterinarian. It is cheaper even than having to call a farrier.

We believe you, the reader, would agree that without a healthy strong hoof there simply would be no horse. Many hoof oils make the claim to resolve the dreadful bacteria (e.g. white line and thrush) that the hoof may acquire.

The Soleful Equine® has gone a step or two further with this treatment… We believe that not only should the bacteria be resolved but the unseen damage left behind must also be resolved.

Our products of oils and poultice are designed specifically to do just that. Resolving these hoof issues is top priority because tissue damage to the hoof deep inside may resurface unexpectedly, continuing an unending cycle.

Our oils consist of OMEGAS 3,6,9 Vitamins B, E., not to mention all the natural compositions of each oil making up The Soleful Equine® product line.
